Sefer ʻOlat Hodesh ha-Shelishi is part three of Eleaar ben David Fleckeles's sermons, which bear the collective title 'Olat ḥodesh. Fleckeles wote 'Olat Hodesh in four parts, containing sermons, a criticism of Mendelssohn's translation of the Pentateuch, and an address directed against the followers of Shabbatai Zvi.
Eleazar ben David Fleckeles (1754-1826) was an Austiran rabbi and author, renowned for his scholarhsip and his skill in wordly affairs. He twice had audience with Emperor Francis I.
Fleckeles was on friendly terms with Carolus Fischer (1755-1844), a Christian Hebraist and censor of Hebrew books who censored 'Olat Hodesh.
The title page of this copy has a Hebrew inscription [chiefly illegible].
